The
itinerary will be structured from February 2003, in conjunction
with the opening of the extensive exhibition dedicated to Parmigianino,
and which will provide an opportunity to see what the master saw,
feel what he felt and taste the flavours of the times. An ideal route
through the Renaissance courts active in the times of Parmigianino,
where the most important stately families of the Parma region have
left evidence of their artistic tastes and the culture of the times.
Twelve castles in the province of Parma (nine of which are public
property and three private) are equipped to receive visitors and set
up guided routes, and are equipped with environments where a virtual
recreation of the world of the Renaissance court is made.
The majority of the castles present unexplored spaces to the public,
reopened following restoration works carried out for the occasion.
Twelve stages to narrate the sixteenth century in Parma as in an "illustrated
account" where the protagonists are the noble families and the
artist is called to embellish the courts.
